Nitin Sawhney

In Episode 3, whilst exploring his relationship with club culture, Mala discusses an artist that was key to his development, acting as a juxtaposition to his own focus on the dancefloor. It is Nitin Sawhney and specifically his two albums, ‘Beyond Skin’ and ‘Prophesy’.

Nitin Sawhney is a prolific British Indian composer, songwriter and producer, who first came to prominence when his 1999 album, ‘Beyond Skin’ was nominated for the Mercury Prize. The success of this album led to his signing with V2, and releasing the follow-up, ‘Prophesy’ in 2001.

This year Nitin has released his 10th studio album, ‘Dystopian Dream’.
